Summary

In the year of 2002, five super-heroines made their debut, all immediately recognizable with their colorful outfits and animalistic features; a pink cat, a blue bird, a green porpoise, a yellow monkey, and a purple wolf. These five girls dutifully defended earth from threats, first from an alien invasion, then from a group of supernatural terrorists, even gaining a new member in the process, a white rabbit.
It is now the year 2022. Tokyo Mew Mew have been dormant for at least a decade, their true identities never revealed and theories of their origins still unanswered.
Unbeknown to the public, the world is once again at risk, and with Tokyo Mew Mew unable to answer the call, a new generation of Mews must be created.

Characters

Mew Mews

Ame Momose ((もも)()あめ, Momose Ame)
Voiced by: Yuu Shimamura (JP), Cassandra Lee Morris (EN)
The 13-year-old main protagonist and leader of the Mew Mews. She's an upbeat social butterfly with an inflated ego that often gets the best of her. She's passionate about glamour and beauty and dreams of becoming a fashion designer someday in the future. Ame can't stand being alone and therefore tries to surround herself with people. She transforms into Mew Candy (ミュウキャンディー, Myū Kyandī) and is infused with the DNA of an Eriskay pony and Sumatran rhinoceros.
Kyoho Aitani ((あい)(たに)きょほ, Aitani Kyoho)
Voiced by: Fumiko Orikasa (JP), Carrie Keranen (EN)
A 15-year-old junior high school student. Unlike Ame, Kyoho is a quiet and stoic young woman with a strong distaste for other people and a tendency to avoid socializing whenever possible. She has a reputation for being intimidating due to her height, eerily calm demeanor, and deep, monotone voice. Kyoho has an interest in computers, programming, and history, not unlike her mother. She transforms into Mew Grape (ミュウグレープ, Myū Gurēpu) and is infused with the DNA of the roughy umbrella octopus.
Suguri Himura (()(むら)すぐり, Himura Suguri)
Voiced by: Rina Satou (JP), Suzy Myers (EN)
A 14-year-old junior high school student and local delinquent. She's a loud-mouthed, rambunctious girl with little to no filter, this, combined with her impulsive tendencies, has lead to Suguri constantly getting into trouble with authority. Suguri has become somewhat notorious for starting or getting involved in fights at an arcade that she frequents. She transforms into Mew Wineberry (ミュウワインベリー, Myū Wainberī) and is infused with the DNA of the Honduran spiny-tailed iguana and golden-capped fruit bat.
Nashi Suiyama ((すい)(やま)なし, Suiyama Nashi)
Voiced by: Hisako Kanemoto (JP), Amy Birnbaum (EN)
A 12-year-old junior high school student. Nashi is a studious shrinking violet whose peers constantly treat her like a doormat, whether that be by forcing her to do their homework, sending her on errands, or bullying her without provocation. Her timid nature and inability to stand up for herself lead to people forgetting that she's even in the room at times. She transforms into Mew Pear (ミュウペア, Myū Pea) and is infused with the DNA of the volcano rabbit and key deer.
Mikan Kohakusaki (()(はく)(さき)みかん, Kohakusaki Mikan)
Tomoko Kaneda (JP), Amy Palant (EN)
A 9-year-old elementary school student and the youngest of the Mew Mews. Due to her age and rather sheltered upbringing Mikan is even more naïve than most children her age, not seeming to register just how dangerous the aliens and their Chimera Anima can be. She desperately wants people to like her and see her as a mature adult instead of a child. She transforms into Mew Tangerine (ミュウタンジェリーン, Myū Tanjerīn) and is infused with the DNA of the Kaempfer's woodpecker.
Ichijiku Aitani ((あい)(たに)いちじく, Aitani Ichijiku)
Asami Seto (JP), Jessica Calvello (EN)
A 16-year-old senior high school student and the half-sister of Kyoho. Ichijiku is, to put it simply, a ditz. She's bubbly, creative, and incredibly friendly, but also extremely air-headed and emotional. She is prone to acting irresponsible and often lacks motivation, something that acts as a constant barrier to her dreams of being a manga artist. She transforms into Mew Fig
(ミュウフィグ, Myū Figu) and is infused with the DNA of the dusky sea snake.
Banban Liu ((りゅう)(ばん)(ばん), Liú Bǎnbǎn)
Aya Hirano (JP), Tara Sands (EN)
A 16-year-old senior high school student. Banban is a mature and responsible young woman who keeps her emotions close to her chest, valuing her privacy. She's always the first person to chastise her friends for goofing off, but at the same time she isn't above joining in on the chaos on occasion. She takes great pride in how hard she works, whether that be helping out at her family's restaurant or staying up all night studying. She transforms into Mew Bonbon
(ミュウボンボン, Myū Bonbon) and is infused with the DNA of the Darwin's fox.
Remon Kohakusaki (()(はく)(さき)れもん, Kohakusaki Remon)
Risa Taneda (JP), Liza Jacqueline (EN)
A 16-year-old senior high school student and the older sister of Mikan. Remon is just as bitter as her name implies; she's an arrogant spotlight hog who loves ordering people around and is responsible for most of the gossip and rumors floating around her school. She does, however, have a soft spot for her younger sister despite all their bickering. She transforms into Mew Lemon (ミュウレモン, Myū Remon) and is infused with the DNA of the lion and Steppe eagle.

Lemurians

Tiramisu (ティラミス, Tiramisu)
Aya Suzaki (JP), Rachael Lillis (EN)
The youngest of the aliens. She's notoriously lazy and apathetic, known to start whining and complaining whenever told to carry out tasks, whether that be reconnaissance or creating Chimera Animas.
Soufflé (スフレ, Sufure)
Miyuki Sawashiro (JP), Kathleen Delaney (EN)
Soufflé is the leader of Deep Blue's Disciples. She exudes elegance and serenity with everything she does, no matter what it may be. She acts as a mother figure to the other Disciples, guiding and nurturing them.

Major Characters

Yasuko Ginza ((ぎん)()(やす)(), Ginza Yasuko)
Aya Hisakawa (JP), Carol Jacobanis (EN)
The scientist behind the revived Mew Project. She's highly intelligent and accomplished, but her people skills are severely lacking. Yasuko keeps her distance from everyone, including the Mew Mews, and neglects herself and her social life in favor of the Mew Project.
Airi Kurosawa ((くろ)(さわ)あいり, Kurosawa Airi)
Miyuki Sawashiro (JP), Suzanne Goldish (EN)
One of Ame's classmates and best friends. Airi is a confident and strong-willed girl who isn't afraid to fight for what's right. Her short hair, athleticism, and outspoken personality have earned her the label of 'tomboy', though she's trying to be more feminine.
Maki Tsukumo ((つくも)みき, Tsukumo Maki)
Minori Chihara (JP), Rebecca Soler (EN)
One of Ame's classmates and best friends. Maki is quiet, shy, and values logic and knowledge, though she's also a huge fan of fairy tales and believes that mythical creatures could exist. Maki has a love of animals, whether creepy or cute.
Satomi Akabane ((あか)(ばね)さとみ, Akabane Satomi)
Yoshino Nanjō (JP), Eileen Stevens (EN)
One of Ame's classmates and her love interest. Satomi is the class representative and a member of Himawari Academy's student council. She's a warm, intelligent, and loving girl who acts as a role model for other students. Satomi is a problem solver who has a bad habit of prioritizing helping other over her own well-being.

Supporting Characters

Chia Sumida (墨田(すみだ)ちあ, Sumida Chia)
Atsumi Tanezaki (JP), Emlyn Morinelli McFarland (EN)
A student in the year above Ame. They're quite the enigma; refusing to talk much about their family, possessing an unexplained vitriol towards Ame, and only talking when necessary.
Kazuma Ryuujin ((りゅう)(じん)(かず)(), Ryuujin Kazuma)
Hiro Shimono (JP), Matthew Charles (EN)
Suguri's best friend and classmate. In contrast to his more bombastic friend, Kazuma is withdrawn and a little shy, something you wouldn't guess upon first laying eyes on him.
