Mew Ginger Peach
Lucky's entry for Shiny's contest.
She is named for Ginger Peach Tea because it is delicious.
Momoko is a bit of a wild child. She was raised with traditionalist ideals in mind and sometimes goes overboard trying to make up for the things she feels she missed out on. A social girl if there ever was one, Momoko loves the feeling of being with a large group of people she can just have fun with. She doesn't necessarily need to be the centre of attention so long as she has someone to mess around with.
To put it simply, Momoko is an adrenaline junkie. She's always looking for something exhillerating that will give her her next rush. She actively participates in aggressive inline skating, has somehow managed to convince her aunt to let her take skydiving lessons, and the day her cousin got a motorcycle license was just about the best day of her life. Fighting aliens in her Mew form is just another way for Momoko to get her rush.
The on-the-edge lifestyle Momoko likes to lead has made it so that she'll think about her personal pleasure first and everything else later. This has led her to make many rash (and often bad) decisions in her lifetime. She does, to a certain extent, realize the negative effect her impulsive attitude can have on her and as she gets older Momoko is making a conscious effort to try and become a more mature person. Because of her nature and the friends she likes to keep, this effort has so far been futile.
An only child, Momoko was born in a small village to parents who were determined to raise her a proper lady. Schooled from a young age in etequitte and traditional arts by her mother, she learnt to keep her head down and her mouth shut. With no siblings to play with and her parents hovering over her, Momoko didn't have many friends when she was a kid and she certainly never got to do anything wild and crazy and fun. All she had was dances and tea ceremonies.
It was when her parents decided to send her to the city to attend high school with her cousins that things really got interesting for her. Living with her family in Tokyo, Momoko got her first taste of modernity and freedom. Her older cousins took her under their wings and helped turn her into the thrill seeking social butterfly she is today. Afraid that they would force her to come home, Momoko always hid her drastic change in personality from her parents whenever they came to visit. She is happily convinced they think she's still the same girl they knew before.
Though she loves her parents, Momoko resents them for not giving her the opportunity to be herself when she was younger. She feels like because they repressed her individuality at an early age she missed out on a lot and has no intention of returning to her family once she graduates. Though Momoko remembers a lot of what she was taught as a child and can probably still make you one of the best cups of tea you've ever had, she doesn't like to put that knowledge to use. It reminds her of the time before she had her freedom.
When Momoko first became a Mew her reaction was mixed. On the one hand it was a rush like nothing she had ever felt before, but on the other, she was smart enough to realize that fighting aliens couldn't possibly end well for her. In the end she decided that the rush was worth it and now continues to fight for the sake of earth (read: because she wants to). She was none too pleased when she found out that her transformation was tea-themed as it brought her past right back up to the surface. At least it was a tea she liked though. Momoko never could stand the awful stuff her mother had taught her to make.
Momoko can stand out in a crowd. The bright streaks dyed into her hair combined with the many piercings she has make her someone you'd remember. She usually keeps her hair down, but will wear it up in a loose bun when she needs to get it out of her face. She has a number of piercings (both facial and not) and likes to advertise her Mew Mark as being a tattoo with some sort of deep meaning. Many of her clothes are actually hand-me-downs from one of her cousins. Momoko fell in love with the older girl's style when she first moved in and inherited all the leather skirts that came with it when her cousin moved out. As she gets older she's trying to move into a more sophistocated style, but the majority of her friends want to stay punk rockers forever so she just goes along with them for the time being.
Over the years Momoko has acquired a great many piercings. It started out as just one in each ear, but she just kept getting more and more. Momoko now has several in each ear (four in her left, three and a cartilage piercing in her right), one through her left eyebrow, spider bite lip piercings, and a bellybutton piercing (which she has no qualms about showing off). She is aware that some people may judge her for her piercings, but not once has Momoko regretted them or thought of taking them out. She thinks of her piercings as something that can keep her grounded; no matter what she does, as long as she can still feel the weight of them she's okay.
Physically, Momoko is of average height and weight although she is quite muscular as well. Though in no way the star player, Momoko has been competing on her school's track and field team since her first year there. Her events are the 400 metre and the 1.5k so her legs are fairly strong and well muscled.
Mew Ginger Peach
In her Mew form, Momoko's hair turns bright orange and becomes a little shorter. Her eyes gain a pinkish hue and turn a bit lighter than in her human form. She has a pair of horse's ears in place of her human ears. For the most part, Momoko is not too fond of her Mew outfit as, once again, it reminds her of her past. She hasn't worn something so girly in years and doesn't want to start now.
Mew Ginger Peach's oufit is mostly light orange with pink trim. She wears a heart shaped orange top that is low cut enough that her Mew Mark is clearly visible and a multilayered skirt. Connecting her shirt and skirt is a sheer sparkling fabric. A head piece sits between her ears and a piece of the same sheer fabric hangs in front of her face. She wears short boots with leg warmers over top. Starting at her arm puffs are a pair of long sleeves resembling those of a traditional kimono and underneath those she has a pair of fingerless gloves.
Her weapon is a chashaku (a type of traditional tea scoop) named the Spicy Scoop which appears to be made of dark stained bamboo with orange markings down the side. Her attack is called Ginger Snap and she uses it to deal a strong physical blow to her enemies.
- Momoko's skirt is supposed to look like tea leaves and the sparkles in the sheer fabric are like the little chunks of fruit you often find in tea bags of fruity teas.
- She's based on ginger peach tea because lucky can't stand any other kind.
- Momoko's piercings all seem to disappear when she transforms into her Mew form. When she transforms back they reappear, but she still finds it strange and slightly disturbing to be without them for any period of time.
- She is allergic to nickel and so has a hard time finding jewelry she can actually wear.
